DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE P0700

Hyundai Auto Canada's Technical Assistance Centre (HY-TAC) has received a number of inquiries from Dealership Technicians who are diagnosing vehicles with the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0700 stored in the ECM, memory.

This DTC (stored in the ECM) only signifies that there is a related DTC to be found in the Automatic Transaxle Control Systems TCM. It does not simply that there is a problem with either the ECM or the TCM, nor does it necessarily warrant replacement.

Should you encounter a vehicle with DTC P0700 stored in the ECM's memory, HY-TAC recommends that you "Escape" out of the Engine section of the Scan Tool and go in to the Transaxle section to search for ATM related trouble codes and diagnose accordingly.
