Headlamp: Adjustments

HEAD LAMP AIMING INSTRUCTIONS
The head lamps should be aimed with the proper beam-setting equipment, and in accordance with the equipment manufactures instructions.

NOTE: If there are any regulations pertinent to the aiming of headlamps in the area where the vehicle is to be used, adjust so as to meet those requirements.

Alternately, turn the adjusting wheel to adjust the headlamp aiming. If beam-setting equipment is not available, proceed as follows:

1. Inflate the tires to the specified pressure and remove any loads from the vehicle except the driver, spare tire, and tools.
2. The vehicle should be placed on a flat level surface.
3. Draw vertical lines (vertical lines passing through respective headlamp centers) and a horizontal line (horizontal line passing through center of head lamps) on a screen.

4. With the headlamp and battery in normal condition, aim the head lamps.
Make vertical and horizontal adjustments to the lower beam using the adjusting wheel.

- Turn on the low beam without driver. The cut-off line is projected in the allowable range (shaded region).

- Turn on the fog lamp without driver. The cut-off line is projected in the allowable range.

The fog lamp is non-adjustable of the horizontal direction. If the deviation of the light beam axis exceeds the standard value, check to be sure that the mounting location or some other point is not defective.

W1 : Distance between the head lamp bulb center.
W2 : Distance between the fog lamp bulb center.
H1 : Height between the head lamp bulb center and ground.
H2 : Height between the fog lamp bulb center and ground.
L : Distance between the head lamp bulb center and screen.

CAUTION: Be sure to adjust the aiming adjustment screw in the tightening direction.

NOTE: The reflectors for low beam and high beam have been combined into a single part, so if the low beam adjustment is made, high beam adjustment is not necessary.
