Parking Brake System: Description and Operation

Circuit Description
The brake warning indicator light goes on to alert the driver that the parking brake is applied or that the brake fluid level is low. It also lights as a bulb test when the engine is cranked. With the ignition switch in ON or START, battery voltage is applied from fuse 28 to the brake warning indicator.

Parking Brake
When the parking brake is applied, the switch closes and provides a ground for the light. The brake warning indicator goes on to remind the driver that the parking brake is applied.
