THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TSB 09-FL-013 TO CORRECT DIAGRAMS AND WARRANTY INFORMATION SECTIONS.

DESCRIPTION:

Some GENESIS (BH) Lambda 3.8L engine DTC(s) with check engine light illumination may be oxygen sensor related. Please diagnose according to the following procedure.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
Models: 2009 GENESIS (BH) 3.8L
Affected Vehicle Production Date Range: ALL





PARTS INFORMATION

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1. Connect the GDS scan tool and read the stored DTC(s).

2. Repair the vehicle according to the DTC(s) stored:

^ Misfire DTC P0300 to P0306: Check that Freeze Frame data has the value of "Short Term Fuel Trim" or "Long Term Fuel Trim" more than -20% to confirm it is related to an oxygen sensor and, if so, replace the front oxygen sensor on the affected bank with the new one listed in the parts information table.





^ Bank-1 Oxygen Sensor DTC:

^ When any of the following DTC(s) related to the front oxygen sensor on bank #1 are stored, replace the front oxygen sensor at bank#1 with the new one listed in the parts information table

^ P0132 - O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank1/Sensor1)

^ P0133 - O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank1/Sensor1)

^ P0134 - O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank1/Sensor1)

^ P2196 - O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Rich (Bank1/Sensor1)

^ P2A00 - O2 Sensor Not Ready (Bank1/Sensor1)

^ Bank-2 Oxygen Sensor DTC:

When any of the following DTC(s) related to the front oxygen sensor on the bank #2 are stored, replace the front oxygen sensor on the bank #2 with the new one listed in the parts information table.

^ P0152 - O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank2/Sensor1)

^ P0153 - O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank2/Sensor1)

^ P0154 - O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank2/Sensor1)

^ P2197 - O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Rich (Bank2/Sensor1)

^ P2A03 - O2 Sensor Not Ready (Bank2/Sensor1)

3. Torque the new oxygen sensor to the following specification:

5~6 Kgf.m (49.1~58.8 N.m, 36.2~43.3 lb.ft)

4. Clear all DTC with GDS and confirm that none reset.
