Automatic Transaxle - P0711 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor 'A' Circuit Range/Performance - Component Inspection

Component Inspection

Check "TRANSAXLE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR"
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect the "TRANSAXLE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR" connector
3. Measure the resistance between terminals "1" and "2" of the "TRANSMISSION FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR".

Specification : Refer to "Reference data"

4. Is resistance within specifications?





Check TCM
1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
2. Connect "TRANSAXLE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR" connector.
3. Install scantool and select a SIMU-SCAN,
4. Simulate voltage (0->5 V) to "TRANSMISSION FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR" signal circuit.




Fig 1) INPUT 1.00 V -> 165°F
Fig 2) INPUT 2.00 V -> 114°F
** The values are subject to change according to vehicle model or conditions.
5. Is FLUID TEMP. SENSOR signal value changed according to simulation voltage?
