Integrated Memory System - B1911 Outside Mirror Left Vertical Motor or Sensor Error W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?






Signal Circuit Inspection

Check for open in harness
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect left outside mirror.
3. Measure resistance between terminal "B19" of Power window main switch and terminal "11" of left outside mirror.

Specification : Approx. 0 Ohms





4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?





Check for short in harness
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect left outside mirror.
3. Measure resistance between terminal "11" of left outside mirror and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. Infinity Ohms





4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?






Power Supply Circuit Inspection

Motor Power circuit Inspection
1. Check for open in harness
(1) Ignition "OFF".
(2) Disconnect left outside mirror.
(3) Measure resistance between terminal "A1" of Power window main switch and terminal "1" of left outside mirror.
(4) Measure resistance between terminal "A3" of Power window main switch and terminal "2" of left outside mirror.

Specification : Approx. 0 Ohms





(5) Is the measured resistance within specifications?





2. Check for short in harness
(1) Ignition "OFF".
(2) Disconnect left outside mirror.
(3) Measure resistance between terminal "1" of left outside mirror and chassis ground.
(4) Measure resistance between terminal "2" of left outside mirror and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. Infinity Ohms





(5) Is the measured resistance within specifications?





Sensor Power circuit Inspection
1. Ignition "OFF"
2. Disconnect left outside mirror.
3. Measure voltage between terminal "9" of left outside mirror and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 5 V





4. Is the measured voltage within specifications?






Ground Circuit inspection

Check for open in harness
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect left outside mirror.
3. Measure resistance between terminal "10" of left outside mirror and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 0 Ohms





4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?
