Automatic Headlamp Leveling System - C2226 Output Voltage Short to Battery or Short to Ground W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?






Signal Circuit Inspection

1. Check for short to chassis ground in harness
(1) Ignition "OFF"
(2) Disconnect ECM connector, leveling actuator, and right/left connector
(3) Measure resistance between terminal "2" of the ECM (or leveling actuator) harness connector and chassis ground

Specification : Approx. Infinity Ohms





(4) Is the measured resistance within specification?





2. Check for short to power circuit in harness
(1) Ignition "OFF"
(2) Disconnect ECM wiring, leveling actuator, right/left connector
(3) Measure resistance between terminal "2" of the ECM (or leveling actuator) harness connector and terminal "3" of the power supply harness
** 10.8 - 11.2 V is measured at leveling actuator signal line when ignition "ON" under normal condition

Specification : Approx. Infinity Ohms





(4) Is the measured resistance within specification?
