Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminal condition. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?






Signal Circuit Inspection

Check short to ground in harness
1. Ignition "OFF"
2. Connect TPMS ECU and TPMS ECU harness connector.
3. Measure resistance between terminal "6" of Data Link Connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Infinity




4. Is the measured value within specifications?





Check Signal Waveform
1. Ignition "ON"
2. After lifting up the vehicle, keep the engine "ON" for measurement condition.
3. Measure signal waveform at terminal "6" of Data Link Connector.

4. Is the measured value within specifications?





Check for open in harness
1. Ignition "OFF"
2. Disconnect INSTRUMENT CLUSTER and TPMS ECU harness connector.
3. Measure resistance between Vehicle Speed Signal terminal of INSTRUMENT CLUSTER harness connector and Vehicle Speed Signal terminal of TPMS ECU harness connector.

Specification : Infinity




4. Is the measured value within specifications?
