Electronic Hydraulic Power Steering System
C2421 Motor Temperature Sensor Low Input - General Information
Component Location
General Description
The EHPS (Electro Hydraulic Power Steering) system is to assist a driver's steering force by using a motor and making an oil pressure, not by engine power.
Among elements of EHPS system, a temperature sensor is installed in the MPU (Motor Pump Unit) to measure its oil temperature. This sensor uses a thermistor whose resistance changes according to temperature.
The MPU ECU controls its motor speed according to a change of oil viscosity and an oil temperature.
DTC Description
When an oil temperature sensor's signal is too low, the MPU sets this code in order to protect MPU from getting a damage.
