SERVICE PROCEDURE: (NOTE: The procedure is shown for a Genesis Coupe)

1. Using a GDS, check for DTC in the "Automatic Transaxle" menu. Record the DTC and description. Delete the DTC.

2. From the GDS, select the following menus:

^ Vehicle and A/T menu

^ "Actuation Test

^ Press the "Start" button and look for a "Normal" indication.

3. If the test results show:

^ "Normal" - the wiring harness currently has no open/short circuit. Go to Step 5.

^ "Failure" - the solenoids or wiring harness have an open/short circuit. Go to Step 4.

4. Visually check the wiring harness between the PCM and transaxle for a damaged wire or connector. Check for a short circuit to ground. If so, repair or replace the ECM control harness. Drive the vehicle for two key-on to key-off drive cycles and go to Step 1~3.

5. Drain the ATF.

6. Remove the CLG-ZF connector at the rear of the transmission.

7. Remove the plastic oil pan (D).

8. Press down on the tab and pull the white clip down.

9. Pull the guide sleeve (F) out of the mechatronic by turning it counterclockwise.

10. Use a 140 TORX wrench to remove the mechatronic bolts, beginning with the outermost bolts.

11. Remove the mechatronic.

12. Install the new adaptor (H) to the transmission case.

13. Carefully align the range switch with the manual valve and install the new mechatronic.

14. Install the bolts and tighten, beginning with the innermost bolts. Torque: 5.3~6.5 lb-ft (73~90 kg.cm)

15. Install a new guide sleeve and push the white clip fully upward.

16. Install the oil pan and tighten the bolts to specification in the order shown.

Torque: 6.5~8.1 lb-ft (90~110 kg.cm)

17. Install the CLG-ZF connector and rotate clockwise past the detent mark.

18. Add approximately five quarts of Shell 1375.4 ATF (P/N 00232-19015).

19. Use the GDS to monitor ATF temperature. Start the engine, shift into Park and add ATF until oil flows out the fill plug in a thin steady stream when the ATF is at the specified temperature (86~122° F, 30~50°C) according to TSB 09-AT-001).

ATF temperature 86~122°F, (30~50°C) Engine idling in Park
