SERVICE INFORMATION
The welcome light function is set to disabled as the factory default setting, and needs to be activated during PDI.
Once the welcome light function is active the puddle light and the passenger cabin lights will illuminate when you approach the vehicle with the intelligent key (within approximately 3.3 feet (1 m) of the antenna built inside the door handles), and the following conditions are met:
^ All the doors are closed and locked.
^ The ignition switch is in the LOCK or OFF position.
^ The Intelligent Key is outside the vehicle.
NOTE:
The puddle light operates within a set time.
To activate or deactivate the welcome light function, perform the following procedure:
^ Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
Then within 20 seconds:
^ Open the driver's side door.
And
^ Push the door open request switch on the driver's side door handle for 5 or more seconds.
If successful a chime will sound once the setting is complete.
NOTE:
The welcome light function will deactivate automatically if it is not operated within a set duration to prevent battery discharge. Note that the duration is set to 14 days as the factory default setting and can be adjusted from 1 - 14 days. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) to see how the welcome light adjusts.
Ensure the function is active when the vehicle is delivered to the customer.
