Check Fuel Pump Part Number

1. Make sure the ignition is turned OFF.

2. Remove the rear seat cushion as follows:





^ Release the two seat cushion locks by pulling each lock ring (see Figure 1).

^ Lift up and remove the cushion.

^ Place the seat cushion in a clean, safe location.





3. Fold back the floor insulation to reach the passenger side fuel pump cover (see Figure 2).

4. Release the 1/4 -turn plastic fasteners (4 of them) holding the fuel pump cover as follows:

a. Use a 10 mm wrench.





b. 1st, press down on the fuel pump cover nearest to the fastener you want to release (see Figure 3).

c. 2nd, turn the fastener 1/4 turn clockwise to align the fastener with the hole opening (see Figure 3).





5. Check the fuel pump part number as shown:

^ If fuel pump number is 17040-1BA0B, pump is OK.
Re-install cover, carpet, and seat cushion.

^ If fuel pump number is 17040-1BA0A, replace the fuel pump - Refer to "Fuel pump replacement".
