Sub-Crankshaft Position Sensor

Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) Sub-Sensor:

PURPOSE
The Sub-Crankshaft Position Sensor operates when the Crankshaft Position Sensor is malfunctioning.

OPERATION
The Sub-Crankshaft Position Sensor is a small magnetic generator which consists of a signal rotor and a pickup. The perimeter of the signal rotor has grooves which change the magnetic lines of force across the pickup so that a pulse is produced.
