Fuel Filter: Service and Repair
Fuel Pump Fuse Location:
CHANGING FUEL FILTER
1. Remove fuse for fuel pump and start engine.
2. After engine stalls, crank engine two or three times to make sure that fuel pressure is released.
3. Turn ignition switch OFF and reinstall fuse for fuel pump.
Fuel Filter Location:
4. Loosen fuel hose clamps.
5. Replace fuel filter.
^ Be careful not to spill fuel over engine compartment. Place a shop towel to absorb fuel.
^ Use a high-pressure type fuel filter. Do not use a synthetic resinous fuel filter.
TIGHTENING HOSE CLAMPS
Fuel Hose Clamp:
1. Tighten high-pressure rubber hose clamp so that clamp end is 3 mm (0.12 in) from hose end.
2. Tightening torque specifications are the same for all rubber hose clamps. 1.0-1.5 Nm (0.7-1.1 ft lbs)
3. Ensure that screw does not contact adjacent parts.
