Ignition System: Description and Operation

The direct ignition system is used on the Q45 model. The ignition timing is controlled by the electronic control unit (ECU) which receives input data from various sensors. The ECU calculates the inputted data and the alters the ignition timing based on load, engine speed and various other conditions. Ignition signals are then sent to the power transistor, coil(s) and spark plugs.
