Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

On models with Supplemental Restraint (SRS), disable airbag system, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair .

A/C Components:

1. Discharge A/C system.
2. Remove glove box lower attaching screws, then the glove box.
3. Remove lower passenger side instrument panel cover.
4. Disconnect blower motor vacuum line and electrical connectors.
5. Loosen intake unit attaching bolts to gain access to cooling unit.
6. Remove cooling unit refrigerant lines and plug all opening to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
7. Disconnect vacuum lines, control cable and electrical connectors.
8. Remove cooling unit attaching bolts, then remove.
9. Separate cooling unit halves.
10. Disconnect evaporator core attaching lines, then remove.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
12 Evacuate and recharge A/C system.
