Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Operation

The Supplemental Airbag Restraint System deploys when any of the following sensors are simultaneously activated while the ignition switch is On:

1. Right crash zone sensor.
2. Center crash zone sensor.
3. Left crash zone sensor or tunnel sensor.
4. Safing sensor.

The control unit (diagnostic unit) diagnoses the SRS circuit. When the ignition key is in the On or Start position, the airbag warning lamp will illuminate for about 7 seconds, then turn off. This means the system is operational.
