Main Relay (Computer/Fuel System): Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The ECCS relay supplies battery voltage to the Engine Control Module (ECM).


Electronic Concentrated Engine Control System (ECCS) Relay:





OPERATION
Battery voltage is supplied to the relay whenever the ignition switch is in the "ON" or "START" position. The relay is grounded through Pin 16 of the ECM. When the switch closes, Pins 49, 59, and 109 of the ECM receives battery voltage.

Relay Terminal Identification:
- (1) GY/R wire to ECM pin No.16; Controlled ground for Relay Coil.
- (2) Y/B wire from fuse box; Battery power supply.
- (3) Y/B wire from fuse box; Battery power supply.
- (5) B/W wire to ECM pins; No.109 No.59 No.49: Battery power output from Relay to ECM pins. Controlled by Relay contacts.
