Component Inspection
Mass Air Flow Sensor Test:
- Fold back Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS) harness connector rubber as shown in the figure, with the harness connector connected.
- Turn ignition switch "ON".
- Start engine and warm it up sufficiently.
- Check voltage between terminal b and ground.
Voltage Readings
Ignition switch "ON" Engine Stopped. Approximately 0.8 Volts.
Engine idling, (at operating temperature). Approximately 0.8-1.5 Volts.
Mass Air Flow Sensor Inspection:
- If Not Good, remove mass air flow sensor from air duct. Check hot wire for damage or dust.
- Clean and re-test.
- Replace MAFS if damaged, or test results do not improve after cleaning.
