Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

Power Steering Oil Pressure Switch:

PURPOSE
Provides a power steering load signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM).

OPERATION
The Power Steering Oil Pressure Switch signals the ECM when the pressure increases (indicating extra engine load). The ECM can then compensate for the load by increasing the duty cycle to the Idle Air Control Valve - Auxiliary Air Control (IACV-AAC) valve.
