Instead of performing the DTC Detecting Condition, the following method can be used for checking the function of the closed loop control.

1. Start engine and warm it up sufficiently.






2. Select "FR 02 MNTR" in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT.
3. Maintaining engine at 2,000 rpm under no load, check to make sure that the monitor fluctuates between "LEAN" and "RICH" more than 5 times during 10 seconds.
4. If CONSULT tester is unavailable, start engine and warm it up sufficiently.
5. Make sure that the malfunction indicator lamp goes on and off periodically more than 5 times for 10 seconds while keeping at 2,000 rpm in Diagnostic Test Mode II.
6. If system does not pass, refer to DTC 33 and DTC 91 diagnosis.
