Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair

Refer to Fig. 1 when disassembling dash panel.
1. Refer to Technician Safety Information for disarming procedures for the entire air bag system.
2. Disconnect both battery ground cables.
3. Remove steering wheel as outlined under Steering Wheel.
4. Remove glove box assembly and disconnect righthand side air bag module.
5. Remove lefthand side lower instrument panel cover.
6. Remove combination switch.
7. Remove screws, disconnect harness connectors then cluster lid.
8. Remove combination meter.
9. Using small flat blade screwdriver, pull out defrost grill with switch panel.
10. On models with automatic transaxle, remove shift lever covers/boots.
11. Remove radio unit.
12. Remove cluster lid and A/C control assembly.
13. Remove screws and disconnect electrical harness at console box.
14. Remove defroster grill then pull out and disconnect harness.
15. Remove front pillar garnish.
16. Remove instrument panel and pads.
