Rear Suspension






GENERAL
1. Check rear axle and suspension parts for looseness, wear or damage.
2. Shake each rear wheel to check for excessive play.








3. Retighten all nuts and bolts to the specified torque.





4. Check shock absorber for oil leakage or other damage.





8. Check spring height from top of wheel arch to the ground.
a. Vehicle must be unladen; i.e. parked on a level surface, and tires checked for proper inflation and wear (tread wear indicator must not be showing), fuel, radiator coolant and engine oil full, spare tire, jack, hand tools and mats in designated positions.
b. Bounce vehicle up and down several times before measuring. Standard height:
- 205/65 R15 Tires front 713 mm (28.07 inch), rear 715 mm (28.15 inch).
- 215/65 R15 Tires front 713 mm (28.07 inch), rear 713 mm (28.07 inch).
c. Spring height is not adjustable. If out of specification, check for worn springs or suspension parts.
