Tighten cylinder head bolts in numerical order as follows
Install short bolts (L2) into the correct holes of cylinders #1 and # 6 as shown.
a. Tighten all bolts to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.).
b. Tighten all bolts to 123 Nm (90 ft. lbs.).
c. Loosen all bolts completely.
d. Tighten all bolts to 34 - 44 Nm (25 - 33 ft. lbs.).
e. Tighten all bolts to 123 Nm (90 ft. lbs.) or if an angle wrench is available, tighten bolts 70 - 75° (L1), 65 - 70° (L2) clockwise.
f. Tighten bolts marked "X" as shown to 10 - 12 Nm (87 - 104 inch lbs.).
Tighten main bearing cap bolts gradually in two or three stages. Start with center bearing and move outward sequentially.
After securing bearing cap bolts, make sure crankshaft turns smoothly by hand.
Tighten connecting rod bearing cap nuts to 14 - 16 Nm (10 - 12 ft. lbs.)Then, tighten to 59 - 65 Nm (43 - 48 ft. lbs.) or if you have an angle wrench, tighten bolts 60 - 65° clockwise.
