Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

COMPONENT INSPECTION
1. Start engine.




2. Check voltage between camshaft position sensor terminals (3), (4) and ground with AC range.




*: Average voltage for pulse signal (Actual pulse signal can be confirmed by oscilloscope.)

If NG, replace distributor assembly with camshaft position sensor.




3. Remove distributor cap. Visually check signal plate for damage or dust.
After this inspection, diagnostic trouble code No. P034O might be displayed with camshaft position sensor functioning properly. Erase the stored memory.
