Use the Service Procedure in this bulletin to repair the incident if it should occur.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Check if the defroster vent is not flush with the dash panel (right side of vent) and/or there is a rattle noise from the right side (see Figure 1).
2. Remove the RH defroster vent from the dash panel. Use a suitable prying tool in order not to scratch the finish of the defroster vent and the dash panel.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the sun-load sensor.
CAUTION:
Do not allow the sun-load sensor wiring harness to fall into the dash panel because it will be difficult to retrieve it.
4. Turn the defroster over and trim the edges of the vent at 2 locations shown. Trim 1 mm to 2 mm from the edges. See Figure 2 below.
5. Remove the sun-load sensor from the defroster vent and apply a felt cloth tape, P/N 68239-13E00 around the sun-load sensor (see Figure 3)
6. Apply felt cloth tape to the right side bottom edge of the defroster vent near the sun-load sensor to prevent rattle noise (see Figure 3 above).
7. Install the sun-load sensor to the defroster vent.
8. Re-connect the wiring harness to the sun-load sensor and install the defroster vent to the dash panel.
