^ This noise may occur when driving over bumps or rough roads.
^ You may be able to duplicate the noise by pushing on the lower clock finisher.
2. Remove the clock finisher.
^ Refer to section IP in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for clock finisher (cluster lid finisher) removal information.
3. Apply felt cloth tape (P/N 68239-13E00) to the lower clock finisher edge-front and rear (see Figures 2 and 3).
a. Front side/clock side of clock finisher:

4. Reinstall the clock finisher.
^ In order for the upper and lower parts of the clock finisher to fit correctly (install correctly) they must be connected together as show in Figure 4 before installation.
^ 1st fit the upper finisher into place and then push the lower finisher into place.
5. Make sure the felt cloth tape you applied is not visible (not sticking up).
6. Test drive the vehicle to confirm the noise is gone.

Squeak, creak or ticking noise coming from adjustable dash vents
1. Confirm the noise is coming from the dash vents.
^ This noise may occur when driving over bumps or rough roads.
^ You may be able to duplicate the noise by pushing/moving the dash vent from side to side.
2. Use a plastic trim tool as shown in Figure 10 to spread the opening on the side of the vent just enough to allow room for a spray nozzle.
NOTE:
Plastic "Trim Tool Set" J-46534 (an "essential tool") is available from TECH-MATE at 1-800-662-2001-option 1.
3. Spray 3M Silicone Lubricant Plus Wet Type into the area on the side of the vent.
^ Spray Lubricant on both sides of the vent.
^ Make sure to spray towards the center of the vent so lubricant will get on the vent center shaft.
^ Thoroughly clean any lubricant that gets on the visible dash surfaces.
^ 3M Silicone Lubricant Plus Wet Type is listed in the Parts Information.
NOTE:
For the vents next to the dash compartment open the compartment before applying the lubricant.
4. Test drive the vehicle to confirm the noise is gone.
