COUPE (2005): Front Passenger Seat Side Air Bag Connector Replacement Kit Installation

IMPORTANT:
Follow all cautions, warnings, and notes in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) when working on or near a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), such as an airbag.

NOTE:
Preparation steps should already have been done.





1. Look under the seat and locate the SAB connector (see Figure 1d).

2. Remove / disconnect the SAB connector from the mounting bracket.

^ Cut the mounting clip type tie-wraps.

^ Disconnect / snap loose the connector mounting clip.





3. Remove the mounting clip from the side air bag connector.

4. Replace the SAB connector with new connector ends.

^ Refer to Side Air Bag (SAB) Connector Replacement.

^ Use Connector Replacement Kit P/N 24009-CM71A.





5. Reinstall the connector mounting clip onto the new SAB connector (see Figure 3d).

6. Install 2 new "mounting clip type" tie-wraps as shown in Figure 3d.





7. Mount the new SAB connector on the bracket as shown.

NOTE:
Make sure SAB connector replacement kits are installed on both front seats.

8. After installation of kits on both front seats, reinstall the seats in reverse order.

^ Torque for seat mounting bolts: 49 N-m (5.0 kg-m, 36 ft-lb).

9. Go to Final Steps After Installation of Side Air Bag Connector Replacement Kits.
