Service Procedure

1. Make sure the Headlamps are turned OFF.





2. Remove the 6 grill clips shown in Figure 1.





3. Remove the 10 bolts shown in Figure 2 from the underside of the front fascia. NOTE: The engine undercover will not be removed just let it hang down.





4. Remove the 3 clips and 1 screw from the left and right front fender protectors.

NOTE:

^ The fender protectors will not be completely removed. Just take them loose at the front so you can get to the side marker lights and bumper fascia fasteners.

^ It may be easier to remove the clips and screws if the wheels are turned to the left and/or right.





5. Remove the fender to bumper fascia bolts.

^ G2 bolts on each side.





6. Remove the side maker lamps from the bumper fascia both sides.

a. Disconnect the electrical connector.

b. Push the metal tab and pull the lamp away from the bumper fascia.





7. Hold the bumper fascia as shown in Figure 6 and carefully pull it loose from the corner support clip.

^ Do this for both the left and right side corners.

NOTE:
The corner support clip is behind the fascia at about the center of the headlamp.





8. Carefully lift off the bumper fascia (don't scratch it) and place in out of the way.

CAUTION:
Make sure the headlamps are turned OFF before disconnecting the headlamp electrical connectors.





9. From the back side of the headlamp assembly disconnect the headlamp electrical connector both sides.





10. Remove the 4 headlamp bolts from both head lamps.

NOTE:
The side bolt is shorter than the other 3 bolts.

11. Remove both headlamps and place them in a clean working area.

12. Swap the HID control units from the old headlamp assemblies to the new headlamp assemblies as follows:





a. Disconnect the HID control unit connector shown in Figure 10.

b. Remove the 3 screws for the HID control unit.





c. Turn the HID control unit over and remove the harness screw.

d. Disconnect the HID control unit connector.

e. Replace the rubber 0-ring seal with the new one included with the headlamp kit.

f. Install the HID control units on the new headlamp assemblies in reverse order.

CAUTION:

^ The headlamp lenses can be permanently damaged (scratched) if not handled carefully.

^ It is recommended that a protective covering be used over the new headlamp lenses while installing the bumper fascia.

^ A protective covering will prevent damage to the headlamp lenses while working with them and around them.

^ Make sure to remove any protective covering after installing the bumper fascia.

13. Install the headlamp assemblies on the vehicle.

14. Reconnect the headlamp electrical connectors; make sure the headlamps operate correctly.

15. Reassemble all parts removed in reverse order.





^ Make sure to align the holes on the side of the bumper fascia with the dowels on the fender.

16. Make the old headlamp assemblies unusable by drilling a 3/8 inch hole in the headlamp lens.

NOTE:

^ There is a three day warranty parts hold before scrapping the headlamp assemblies.

^ The headlamp xenon bulbs should be disposed of in accordance with local and state regulations.





17. Check headlight adjustment (aim) as shown in Figure 14.

^ Make sure all tires are inflated to correct pressure.

^ Make sure there is no load in the vehicle other then the driver (or equivalent weight in the driver's seat) coolant and engine oil are filled to the correct level and the fuel tank is full.

^ Place vehicle on a flat level surface.





^ Basic illuminating area for adjustment should be within the range shown in this aiming chart.
