Description
The ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) and the 4WAS control unit exchange signals via the CAN communication line.

1.CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSIS RESULTS
Check the self-diagnosis results.





Is above displayed on the self-diagnosis display?
YES >> Proceed to diagnosis procedure. Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure".
NO >> INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK 4WAS SYSTEM
1. Perform 4WAS self-diagnosis. Repair or replace items indicated, then perform 4WAS self-diagnosis again. Refer to STC-39, "CONSULT-III Function [4WAS(FRONT)]" (4WAS FRONT CONTROL UNIT), STC-43, "CONSULT-III Function [4WAS(MAIN)/RAS/HICAS]" (4WAS MAIN CONTROL UNIT).

2. Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) self-diagnosis. Refer to BRC-26, "CONSULT-III Function (ABS)". Consult-III Function (ABS)
Is any item indicated on the self-diagnosis display?
YES >> Repair or replace the affected part.
NO >> INSPECTION END

Special Repair Requirement

1.ADJUSTMENT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION
Always perform the neutral position adjustment for the steering angle sensor, when replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to BRC-8, "ADJUSTMENT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION: Description".
