IF YOU CONFIRM:

One or more of the following during highway speeds:

^ Vibration felt in the seat and / or floor

^ Inside rear view mirror vibrates causing blurred reflection

^ Vibration heard from the rear parcel shelf

^ Booming noise heard

NOTES:
> All incidents become more noticeable as vehicle speed increases.

> All incidents are more noticeable on smooth roads.

ACTION:

"Free up" the rebro joint in the rear propeller shaft.

Refer to SERVICE PROCEDURE for repair instructions.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift.





2. If not found apply matching marks to the rebro joint and rear final drive (rear differential) companion flange as shown in Figure 1.

3. Unbolt the rebro joint from the companion flange.

4. Move the rebro joint away from the companion flange and then move (pivot) it around thoroughly in all directions.

Make sure the rebro joint does not bind and moves freely in all directions.

5. Re-install the rebro joint (with matching marks lined up) to the companion flange.

^ Use new nuts bolts and washers.

NOTE:
Always replace all nuts bolts and washers after every disassembly.

^ Bolts torque: 56.9 Nm (5.8 kg-m 42.0 ft lb)





^ See Figure 2 for torque sequence.

6. Verify the incident is resolved.
