VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN
2011 G25 ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) REPROGRAMMING

CAMPAIGN ID # : P0385

APPLIED VEHICLES:
2011 G25(V36)

Check Service Comm to confirm campaign eligibility

INTRODUCTION

Due to a software irregularity on certain model year 2011 G25 vehicles the Engine Control Module (ECM) may incorrectly store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC P0101 and/or P010B) for the Mass Air Flow Sensor and turn ON the Service Engine Soon light on the instrument panel. If DTC P0101 and/or PO10B is stored in the ECM the ECM will limit the engine power until a repair is complete. To remedy this potential condition Infiniti is conducting this voluntary service campaign to reprogram the ECM at no charge for parts or labor.

IDENTIFICATION NUMBER

Infiniti has assigned identification number P0385 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communications and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign.

DEALER RESPONSIBILITY

Dealers are to correct each vehicle falling within the range of this campaign that enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer's inventory.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Connect CONSULT III (C-III) to the vehicle to begin the reprogramming procedure.

If you are not familiar with the reprogramming procedure click here. This will link you to the "CONSULT-III (C-III) ECM Reprogramming" general procedure.

CAUTION:

2. When you get to the ECM Reprogramming screen shown in Figure 1 confirm this bulletin applies as follows:

A. On your C-III screen look at the Part Number column (see Figure 1 example).

^ If this column is blank (no part number listed) this campaign does not apply or it has already been completed. Close C-III and disconnect from the vehicle then recheck Service Comm for campaign eligibility.

^ If a Part Number is listed write it on the Repair Order and then go to Step B.

B. Compare the Part Number you wrote down to the numbers in the Current ECM Part Number column in Table A.

^ If there is a match this campaign applies. Continue with the reprogramming procedure.

NOTE:
If there are two lines (two reprogramming options) on your C-III screen use the one that does not have the message "Caution! Use ONLY with ITBXX-XXX".

^ If there is not a match this campaign does not apply or it has already been done. Close C-III and disconnect from the vehicle then recheck Service Comm for campaign eligibility.

3. If this campaign applies and you have performed ECM reprogramming the screen in Figure 2 appears when reprogramming is complete.

NOTE:
If the screen in Figure 2 does not display (reprogramming does not complete) go to the General Procedure for ECM Reprogram Interruption Recovery.

^ Print this screen and attach it to the Repair Order for Warranty documentation.

4. Make sure to erase all DTCs from all Systems.

NOTE:

^ During reprogramming DTCs may set in several systems. These DTCs must be erased from all systems.

^ On the C-III Vehicle Selection screen use Infiniti G37 - 2011.

5. Disconnect C-III start the engine and make sure the MIL (Service Engine Soon light) is OFF.

^ If the Service Engine Soon light comes ON go back to ASIST for further diagnostic information. Refer to the applicable Electronic Service Manual as needed.

^ Diagnosis and repairs beyond ECM reprogramming are not covered by this bulletin.
