Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
CAUTION: Observe all fire hazard precautions detailed in FUEL SYSTEMS / SERVICE PRECAUTIONS, when working on open fuel systems.
Fuel system MUST be depressurized before disconnecting any fueling component.
1. Depressurize fuel system. Fuel Pressure Release
Fuel Return Pipe:
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from pressure regulator.
3. Place a shop towel under regulator to catch fuel spillage.
Fuel Hose Connection:
4. Remove fuel return pipe mounting bracket from 'B' bank cam cover.
5. Disconnect return pipe from regulator. Fit blanking plugs to pipe and valve.
6. Remove bolts securing regulator valve to fuel rail, remove valve and discard seal.
7. Clean sealing surfaces.
8. Reverse step to refit.
9. Use new seals.
10. Check for fuel leaks.
