Transmission - Harsh Park to Drive Engagement - Code 62 - Clearing - Customer Information

ISSUE:

Harsh transmission engagement from Park to Drive coupled with transmission control unit (TCU) fault code 62. This can occur if the throttle is applied when starting the engine.

The TCU will recognize the increase in throttle pedal angle and adjust the transmission line pressure accordingly. If this occurs 10 times, code 62 will be stored in memory.

ACTION:

If a complaint of the above condition occurs, clear the TCU memory using JDS software issue DBC 4070.

I SERVICE ADVISOR NOTE:
Remind the customer and all Jaguar Sales Representatives that it is not necessary to press the throttle pedal when starting the engine.
