Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

The intake air temperature sensor (IATS) records the engine intake air temperature and inputs the ECM. The sensor is mounted on the "A" bank air intake elbow. The sensor is negative temperature coefficient i.e. resistance decreases as temperature rises.
