TRANSMISSION COMPONENT SLIPPING - P1739

Function:
Transmission internal operation monitoring.

Possible Causes:
Mechanical transmission fault.
Low fluid level.
Faulty torque converter clutch.
Worn or damaged clutches.
Speed senses (unlikely).

Effects:
MIL lamp illuminated. No torque converter clutch.
Harsh shifts. No fourth gear.

Remedy:
Refer to "Service and Repair" for more information.
Renew torque converter.
Check fluid level and top up if necessary.
Check speed sensors.
