CAUTION: Always disconnect the battery ground lead before commencing with any instrument renewal procedures.
- After lens removal do not rest instrument panel face down as this causes damage to the delicate gauge needles. Avoid scratching the gauge faces and ensure cleanliness when handling the panel.
- To minimize the risk of damage and contamination to the instrument panel, all repairs must be carried out in a non - static and dust -free environment. Avoid touching connector pins and PCB caps to minimize risk of static damage.
- The instrument panel has two different type of bulb holders of which each must be located correctly when changing the bulbs.
- Always lower steering wheel to its lowest position before removing the instrument panel/housing assembly.
- Two of the four instrument panel securing screws can be accessed via holes located in the switch pack left and right-hand lower covers.
- On refitting the instrument panel/housing assembly to the fascia, ensure that the central clip of the assembly engages under the fascia edge.
- When refitting the flexible circuit board ribbon ends to the edge connectors, ensure that the holes in the circuit board membrane are correctly positioned over the connector latch locating pip.
- Before refitting the instrument gauge set veneer panel, carefully return all gauge needles to 'STOP PIN' position. Individual gauge movements are not serviceable. Pointer can location screws must not be removed.
- Prior to removing the instrument panel/housing assembly, ensure that all harnesses to the assembly are disconnected.
