Fuel Pump: Service and Repair




Removal


1. WARNING:
BEFORE PROCEEDING, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT ALL 'SERVICE PRECAUTIONS' ARE READ AND UNDERSTOOD.


Remove the battery. Refer 'Battery, Service and Repair.' Service and Repair

2. Drain the fuel tank using a suitable suction pump/tanker. If the On-board Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) system is fitted, Refer to 'Fuel Tank, Fuel Tank Drain Procedure For ORVR System.' Service and Repair
3. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to 'Fuel Tank.' Service and Repair
4. Remove the fuel tank evaporative loss flange sealing ring. Service and Repair
5. Remove fuel feed hose from tank.

Using special tool JD175, slacken fuel feed hose to tank stub securing clip. Disconnect hose from tank stub.

6. Remove fuel pump assembly.

Release bolt securing fuel pump mounting bracket and place assembly to front.
Slacken securing clip and disconnect hose from fuel pump.
Remove link lead from fuel pump
Remove pump

Installation


1. NOTE: Install new sealing ring to evaporative loss flange; Service and Repair

Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
