X5: CHECK CONTINUITY HARNESS
X6: END
X1 RETRIEVE DTCS
Note: Battery and or ECM disconnection prior to scanning will erase all data, ensure that the correct DTC is present.
2. Connect scan tool
3. Record DTC(s), freeze frame data
GO to X2 for P0111
GO to X3 for P0112
X2 AIR INTAKE SYSTEM CHECK
2. Check air intake system
Air cleaner clear free from obstruction?
Air cleaner to air meter seal OK?
Air meter to throttle body seal OK?
Engine breather to inlet duct OK?
Yes: Go to X3
No: Rectify the fault(s) and test the system for normal operation.
X3 CHECK IAT SENSOR RANGE
Note: Use a refrigerator, freezer or freeze spray so that the operation of the sensor can be checked at temperatures below the ambient test temperature.
3. With the MAF meter plug (PI035) disconnected, measure the resistance between the IAT pins PI035/003 and PI035/004; refer to temperature/resistance relationship graph.
Relationship OK?
Yes: Go to X4
No: Remove sensor and check for correct temperature/resistance relationship at ambient temperature. Repeat checks for at least 3 different temperatures. Renew as necessary and test the system for normal operation.
X4 CHECK CONTINUITY HARNESS
3. With EM012 and PI035 disconnected, measure the resistance between EM012/012 and PI035/003.
Is the resistance less than 0.5 Ohms?
Yes: Go to X5
No: Inspect harness/connector. Repair as necessary and test the system for normal operation.
X5 CHECK CONTINUITY HARNESS
Note: To avoid a spurious result, disconnect connectors: EM011 (ECM), and PI042 and PI006 (electronic throttle body).
3. Measure the resistance between EM010/020 and the MAF meter connector PI035/004.
Is the resistance less than 0.5 Ohms?
Yes: Go to X6
No: Inspect harness/connector (PI001/031) and splice EMS002. Repair as necessary. Reconnect PI042 and PI006 (electronic throttle body), EM010, EM011 (ECM) and PI035 (MAF meter). Test the system for normal operation.
X6 END
1. Perform appropriate service drive cycle and check for the presence of DTC.
Has the fault code cleared?
Yes: STOP
No: Contact Jaguar Service
