Receiver Dryer: Description and Operation

The receiver / drier, vertically mounted at the top right-hand side of the condenser, stores liquid refrigerant to allow for changes in evaporator demand. In addition, it's fitted with the high-side charge port, filters the refrigerant, removes moisture and includes a fluorescent tracer dye mechanism to aid leak detection. Due to the characteristics of R134a, no sight glass is provided.
