A1: CARRY OUT AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR COMPONENT CHECK

1. Switch the ignition to the OFF position.
2. REMOVE the accelerator pedal.
3. Measure the resistance across pin 10, (YR) and pin 5,(W) with the pedal released and with the pedal at full throttle.

Is the resistance across pin 10 and pin 5 between 420 ohms and 1420 ohms with the pedal released and between 1600 ohms and 3620 ohms with the pedal at full throttle?

Yes
Go to A2

No
INSTALL a new throttle pedal. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

A2: CARRY OUT AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR COMPONENT CHECK

1. Measure the resistance across pin 10, (YR) and pin 9, (N).

Is the resistance across pin 10 and pin 9 between 1980 ohms and 3700 ohms?

Yes
Go to A3

No
INSTALL a new throttle pedal. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

A3: CARRY OUT AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR COMPONENT CHECK

1. Measure the resistance across pin 5, (W) and pin 9,(N).

Is the resistance across pin 9 and pin 5 between 1640 ohms and 3680 ohms with the pedal released and between 450 ohms and 1470 ohms with the pedal at full throttle?

Yes
Go to A4
