B1: CARRY OUT AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR COMPONENT CHECK
1. Switch the ignition to the OFF position.
2. REMOVE the accelerator pedal.
3. Measure the resistance across pin 8, (Y) and pin 4, (WR) with the pedal released and with the pedal at full throttle.
Is the resistance across pin 8 and pin 4 between 2690 ohms and 5740 ohms with the pedal released and between 1500 ohms and 3570 ohms with the pedal at full throttle?
Yes
Go to A2 P1122
No
INSTALL a new throttle pedal. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
B2: CARRY OUT AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR COMPONENT CHECK
1. Measure the resistance across pin 8, (Y) and pin 6, (NR).
Is the resistance across pin 8 and pin 6 between 2610 ohms and 4870 ohms?
Yes
Go to B3
No
INSTALL a new throttle pedal. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
B3: CARRY OUT AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR COMPONENT CHECK
1. Measure the resistance across pin 6, (NR) and pin 4, (WR).
Is the resistance across pin 6 and pin 4 between 1630 ohms and 3770 ohms with the pedal released and between 2790 ohms and 5970 ohms with the pedal at full throttle?
Yes
Go to B4
No
INSTALL a new throttle pedal. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
B4: CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION WIRE (Y) FOR OPEN
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Service and Repair
2. Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Harness electrical connector FP2.
3. Disconnect the Air Conditioning Pressure Sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the powertrain control module (PCM).
5. Measure the continuity of the accelerator pedal position sensor between connector CA88 pin 8, (Y) and the powertrain control module electrical connector FH1-20, (Y).
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the wire between the accelerator pedal position sensor harness CA88 pin 8, (Y) and the powertrain control module electrical connector FH1-20, (Y). INSTALL the powertrain control module. RECONNECT the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Harness electrical connector FP2. RECONNECT the Air Conditioning Pressure Sensor electrical connector. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

B5: CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION WIRE (Y) FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the accelerator pedal position wire connector CA88 pin 8, (Y) and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the wire between the accelerator pedal position sensor harness CA88 pin 8, (Y) and the powertrain control module electrical connector FH1-20, (Y). INSTALL the powertrain control module. RECONNECT the Air Conditioning Pressure Sensor electrical connector. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

B6: CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION WIRE (WR) FOR OPEN
1. Measure the continuity of the accelerator pedal position sensor between connector CA88 pin 4, (WR) and the powertrain control module electrical connector FH1-01, (WR).
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the wire between the accelerator pedal position sensor harness CA88 pin 4, (WR) and the powertrain control module electrical connector FH1-01, (WR). INSTALL the powertrain control module. RECONNECT the Air Conditioning Pressure Sensor electrical connector. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

Go to B7
B7: CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION WIRE (WR) FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the accelerator pedal position wire connector CA88 pin 4, (WR) and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the wire between the accelerator pedal position sensor harness CA88 pin 4, (WR) and the powertrain control module electrical connector FH1-01, (WR). INSTALL the powertrain control module. CONNECT the Air Conditioning Pressure Sensor electrical connector. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

B8: CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION WIRE (NR) FOR OPEN
1. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature electrical connector.
2. Measure the continuity of the accelerator pedal position sensor between connector CA88 pin 6, (NR) and the powertrain control module electrical connector FH1-17, (N).
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the wire between the accelerator pedal position sensor harness CA88 pin 6, (NR) and the powertrain control module electrical connector FH1-17, (N). INSTALL the powertrain control module. CONNECT the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Harness electrical connector FP2. CONNECT the Intake Air Temperature electrical connector. CONNECT the Air Conditioning Pressure Sensor electrical connector. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

B9: CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION WIRE (NR) FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the accelerator pedal position wire connector CA88 pin 6, (NR) and ground.

REPAIR the wire between the accelerator pedal position sensor harness CA88 pin 6, (NR) and the powertrain control module electrical connector FH1-17, (N). INSTALL the powertrain control module. CONNECT the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Harness electrical connector FP2. CONNECT the Intake Air Temperature electrical connector. CONNECT the Air Conditioning Pressure Sensor electrical connector. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
