C1: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE EGR VACUUM REGULATOR
1. Disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator electrical connector PI003.
2. Switch the ignition to the RUN position.
3. Measure the voltage between the EGR vacuum regulator electrical connector PI003 pin 1, (GB) and GROUND.

Is the voltage less than 12 Volts?

Yes
Go to C2

No
Go to C4


C2: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE EGR VACUUM REGULATOR
1. Disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator voltage supply electrical connector FH13.
2. Measure the voltage between the EGR vacuum regulator voltage supply electrical connector FH13 pin 18, (GU) and GROUND.

Is the voltage less than 12 Volts?

Yes
Go to C3

No
REPAIR the circuit between the EGR vacuum regulator electrical connector PI003 pin 1, and the voltage supply electrical connector FH13 pin 18, (GU). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.


C3: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE EGR VACUUM REGULATOR
1. Measure the voltage supply from fuse 6 at the front power distribution box.

Is the voltage less than 12 Volts?

Yes
INSTALL a new fuse. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation. If the fuse fails CHECK the front distribution box.

No
REPAIR the circuit between the EGR vacuum regulator voltage supply electrical connector FH13 pin 18, (GU) and the output side of fuse 6 at the front power distribution box. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.


C4: CHECK THE GROUND SUPPLY/SIGNAL TO THE EGR VACUUM REGULATOR
1. Measure the resistance between the EGR vacuum regulator electrical connector PI003 pin 2, (BG) and GROUND.

Is the resistance less than 0.5 Ohms?

Yes
INSTALL a new EGR vacuum regulator. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
Go to C5


C5: CHECK THE CONTINUITY OF THE SIGNAL TO THE EGR VACUUM REGULATOR
1. Switch the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the PCM electrical connector PI1.
3. Measure the resistance between the PCM electrical connector PI1 pin 16, (BG) and the EGR vacuum regulator electrical connector PI003 pin 20, (BG).

Is the resistance less than 0.5 Ohms?

Yes
Go to C6

No
REPAIR the circuit the PCM electrical connector PI1 pin 16, (BG) and the EGR vacuum regulator electrical connector PI3 pin 20, (BG). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.


C6: CHECK THE SIGNAL TO THE EGR VACUUM REGULATOR FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the PCM electrical connector PI1 pin 16, (BG) and GROUND.

Is the resistance less than 0.5 Ohms?

Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the PCM electrical connector PI1 pin 16, (BG) and the EGR vacuum regulator electrical connector PI3 pin 20, (BG). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
INSTALL a new PCM. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
