P1711, P1713, P1718-TFT out of on-board diagnostic range, no change in TFT - low range, no change in TFT - high range
V1: CHECK RESISTANCE OF THE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the transmission vehicle harness connector GB5.
3. Measure the resistance between the fluid temperature sensor, pin 2 and pin 12.
^ Is the resistance 30,000 Ohms at approximately 25°C?
-> Yes
Goto [V2]
-> No
INSTALL a new fluid temperature sensor. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
V2: CHECK THE GROUND SUPPLY TO THE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR
1. Switch the ignition to the RUN position.
2. Measure the resistance between fluid temperature sensor electrical connector GB5 pin 12, (NG) and GROUND
^ Is the resistance less than 0.5 Ohms?
-> Yes
Goto [V3]
-> No
REPAIR the circuit between the GROUND supply electrical connector GIBS1 and the fluid temperature sensor electrical connector GB5 pin 12, (NG). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
V3: CHECK THE CONTINUITY OF THE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Switch the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Measure the resistance between the GROUND supply electrical connector GBS1 and the fluid temperature sensor electrical connector GB5 pin 12, (NG).
^ Is the resistance less than 0.5 Ohms?
-> Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the GROUND supply electrical connector GBS1 and the fluid temperature sensor electrical connector GB5 pin 12, (NG). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> No
Goto [V4]
V4: CHECK THE CONTINUITY OF THE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect the PCM electrical connector GB1.
2. Measure the resistance between the PCM electrical connector GB1 pin 23, (WR) and the fluid temperature sensor electrical connector GB5 pin 2, (WR).
^ Is the resistance less than 0.5 Ohms?
-> Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the PCM electrical connector GB1 pin 23, (WR) and the fluid temperature sensor electrical connector GB5 pin 2, (WR). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> No
Goto [V5]
V5: CHECK THE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the fluid temperature sensor electrical connector GB5 pin 2, (WR) and GROUND.
^ Is the resistance less than 0.6 Ohms?
-> Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the PCM electrical connector GB1 pin 23, (WR) and the fluid temperature sensor electrical connector GB10 pin 1, (WR). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> No
INSTALL a new PCM. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
