Broken Fasteners - Front Seat Squab Covers - Replace Broken Fasteners

Issue:

This Technical Bulletin provides additional information about removing/installing the front seat back covers on S-TYPE vehicles.

In some cases when removing/installing the front seat back covers, the fixings are broken and are not always replaced.

Action:

When removing/installing the front seat back covers (refer to JTIS CD ROM, section 501-10, SRO 76.70.15), use great care not to break any of the mountings. To prevent the mountings being broken during the removal, carefully pry the fixings apart using a suitable flat blade trim tool, while fully supporting the weight of the seat back cover. If any of the mountings are broken, replace them. If a mounting/retention point on the seat back cover is broken, replace the complete seat back cover.
