A : DTC P0102, P0103
A1: CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR
1. Switch the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector FH2O.
3. Switch the ignition to the RUN position.
4. Measure the voltage between the mass air flow sensor electrical connector FH2O pin 2, (GR) and ground.
Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
Go to A2
No
REPAIR the circuit between the mass air flow sensor electrical connector FH2O pin 2, (GR) and the spliced joint FHS5. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
A2: CHECK THE MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
1. Switch the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Measure the resistance between the mass air flow sensor electrical connector FH2O pin 3, (B) and ground.
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the mass air flow sensor electrical connector FH2O pin 3, (B) and the ground point FH49. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
Go to A3
A3: CHECK THE MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR SIGNAL GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
1. Remove the powertrain control module (PCM)
2. Measure the resistance between the mass air flow sensor FH2O pin 4, (NU) and the powertrain control module FH1 pin 38, (NU).
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the mass air flow sensor FH2O pin 4, (NU) and the powertrain control module FH1 pin 38, (NU). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
Go to A4
A4: CHECK THE MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR SIGNAL GROUND CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the mass air flow sensor FH20 pin 4, (NU) and ground.
Is the resistance less than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the mass air flow sensor FH20 pin 4, (NU) and the powertrain control module FH1 pin 38, (NU). INSTALL the powertrain control module (PCM). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
Go to A5
A5: CHECK THE MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
1. Measure the resistance between the mass air flow sensor FH20 pin 5, (WU) and the powertrain control module FH1 pin 31, (WU).
Is the resistance greater than 0.5 ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the mass air flow sensor FH20 pin 5, (WU) and the powertrain control module FH1 pin 31, (WU). INSTALL the powertrain control module (PCM). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
Go to A6
A6: CHECK THE MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the mass air flow sensor FH20 pin 5, (WU) and ground.
Is the resistance greater than 0.5 ohms?
Yes
INSTALL a new mass air flow (MAF) sensor. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR the circuit between the mass air flow sensor FH20 pin 5, (WU) and the powertrain control module FH1 pin 31, (WU). INSTALL the powertrain control module (PCM). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
