C : P1451
C1 : CHECK THE RESISTANCE OF THE CANISTER CLOSE VALVE
1. Switch the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Detach the canister assembly inspection cover.
4. Disconnect the canister close valve electrical connector CV4.
5. Measure the resistance of the canister close valve across pins 1 and 2.
Is the resistance between 25 and 40 Ohms?
Yes
Goto C2
No
INSTALL a new canister close valve. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
C2 : CHECK THE SUPPLY VOLTAGE TO THE CANISTER CLOSE VALVE
1. Switch the ignition to the RUN position.
2. 2. Measure the voltage to the canister close valve electrical connector CV4 pin 2, (GR) and ground.
Is the voltage greater than 10 Volts?
Yes
Goto C3
No
REPAIR the circuit between the canister close valve electrical connector CV4 pin 2, (GR) and FHS9 (GR). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
C3 : CHECK THE CANISTER CLOSE VALVE SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
1. Switch the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Measure the resistance between the canister close valve electrical connector CV4 pin 1, (BO) and ground.
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 Ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the canister close valve electrical connector CV4 pin 1, (BO) and the powertrain control module FH1 pin 6, (NU).
No
Goto C4
C4 : CHECK THE CANISTER CLOSE VALVE SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Remove the powertrain control module (PCM).
2. Measure the resistance between the canister close valve signal circuit between connector CV4 pin 1, (BO) and ground.
Is the resistance less than 10,000 Ohms?
Yes
REPAIR the canister close valve signal circuit between connector CV4 pin 1, (BO) and the powertrain control module FH1 pin 6, (NU). INSTALL the powertrain control module (PCM). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
INSTALL a new powertrain control module (PCM). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
