Steering Column: Service and Repair



Steering Column 57.40.02

Removal

1. Remove the Steering Wheel.





2. Remove the driver side instrument panel lower panel.
1. Remove the retaining screws.
2. Unclip the lower panel.
3. Remove the panel.





3. Disconnect the headlamp adjustment switch.





4. Remove the driver side air duct.
1. Remove the air duct retaining screw.
2. Remove the air duct.





5. Remove the hood latch release handle supporting plate securing screws.





6. Remove the steering column electrical connectors.





7. Remove the steering column pinch bolt.





8. Detach the steering column securing nuts and support the weight of the steering column.

9. Remove the steering column.





^ Disconnect the steering lock electrical connector.

Installation





1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Tighten to 35 Nm.





2. Tighten to 18 Nm.
