Removal
1. Loosen the wheel nuts.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the wheel.
4. Loosen the tie-rod end lock nut.
5. Remove the tie-rod end retaining nut.
6. NOTE: When the tie-rod end is separated from the wheel hub assembly, the ball joint seal should be protected to prevent damage.
Detach the ball joint from the wheel hub assembly.
7. NOTE: Make a note of the number of turns required to remove the tie-rod end.
Remove the tie-rod end.
Installation
1. NOTE: Make sure the tie-rod end is installed on the tie-rod by the same amount of turns used to remove it.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Check the toe adjustment. For additional information, refer to Alignment.
