Catalytic Converter: Description and Operation

The three way catalytic converters each contain two bricks coated with palladium/rhodium. These elements are utilized to control the emissions of hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) from the engine.
